The Scoop Ent. Exclusive: Jujubee

So as I promised you my all exclusive interview from my girl Jujubee. Jujubee is apart of the top 3 from Rupauls Drag Race season 2 and she decided to stop by and give us The Scoop on her. Here is our all exclusive interview.

Who is Jujubee?

Jujubee is this firecracker of a character I created. Watch out!

When did you start performing?
My first moment onstage was in a musical I middle school. Several years later is found myself doing drag and performing at local clubs. The bee stung me!

What made you decide that you wanted to be a female illusionist?
I never really decided.; it just all happened. I always had a love for the stage and whatever would put me there, would be what I was doing.

What was growing up like for you?
I had many great moments and many horrible moments. So many things have happened to shape me into who I am today. I wouldn’t change a thing.

What was your family’s’ reaction when you told them you were gay and you did drag?
There are so many things one can hide from family. They all knew I was gay and was literally waiting for the day I’d admit it. As far as doing drag, I never discussed it much, but I never hid it.

Did you feel like anyone’s attitude or opinions changed towards you? Why?
If there were any changes, I didn’t notice.

Who was your biggest inspiration into doing drag?
I have many inspirations now while doing drag, but if I had to choose one person, it would have to be RuPaul! I remember seeing, “To Wong Foo,” for the first time and was amazed on how fabulous Ru was!

What was it inside of you that made you sign up for Rupaul’s Drag Race?
To be honest, I wasn’t going to even audition. I though I’d never make it. There are so many talented drag queens in America and I wouldn’t know how to handle it. My friends and drag mother told me I had to do it. I took it as a challenge and started the audition process.

Was being on the show and being around so many different personalities anything like preparing for shows where you perform?
When queens get together, we just carry on. It’s always going to be a great time
What was the most difficult part about being a part of RDR?
The most difficult part about being a part of Rupaul’s Drag Race was not being able to talk to my friends, family and my boyfriend, Chris. I missed my cat like crazy!

Are you still in contact with a lot of the girls?
Of course! We all keep in contact actually. Whether it be over the phone or through Facebook, we make a point to chat it up. We’re family!

Do you feel like from last season and now the competition has changed?
It’s a FIERCE competition, but the stakes are definitely higher! $75,000!!!!
Now some fun Questions

What are some things that Jujubee likes doing?
I love to sleep!!!! I wish I could sleep for 15 hours! It’s my favorite part of the day.

What is one of your hidden talents?
I can KNIT! I’m working on the longest scarf, EVER!

Walk us through a typical day in the life of Jujubee?
I am always thinking about work. I try to come up with ways to make my performances better. I love challenging myself so my days are very involved with my career….and I feel like I’m constantly washing dishes. There’s my day!

Who are your top 3 favorite Drag performers and why?
If could only choose 3 of my favorites, I’ll have to say Raven, because of her subtle nuances and fierce face; Jessica Wild because of her fabulous body and amazing dance performances and RuPaul because she’s the QUEEN!

What can we look forward to from Jujubee in the future?
There are so many things I’m working on. My latest venture is MUSIC! I’ve been writing lyrics and forming songs. I can’t wait to share it with you guys!

Do you have any last words for your fans and my viewers?
THANK YOU! I really appreciate the support! I’m glad I can share my experiences with you guys. It’s been a wonderful journey. Please visit my website www.jujubeeonline.com ! Facebook and Tweet me! MUAAAAH!
