Inside the Mind of our CEO

After much deliberating and much talking I finally decided to sit down and answer some questions that I have been being asked for years. These are some of the most candid interesting questions that I could ever be asked. Here is my interview.

Who is Tyrieak Mines?
A son, A father, A grandfather, An author, an Entrepreneur, A Love, A Visionary, A "Pioneer"

Speaking of Pioneer, How does it feel to be one in the LGBTQ Community?
LOL I actually hate being called a "Pioneer" because I don't feel like I have reached the level of success to be called a Pioneer. I have been called one for a few years and actually deemed one by my good friend Stephen Maglott who was the owner and Editor in Chief of Ubuntu Biography Project, which spotlighted different LGBT Figures on their birthday's but sadly he passed away a few years ago.

What inspired you to create The Scoop Entertainment?
I happened to stumble across my brother Anthony Jackson personal blog and instantly got hooked. I felt like myself and others had stories to tell that could help save and inspire our youth and our community.

What would you say is the focus and mission of your company?
It has always been to bridge cultural gaps and to kill all of the bad stigmas of the community. We get a bad rap about everything and its not just from the heterosexual community but we stigmatize ourselves.

You have interviewed everyone from Adult Film Stars to National recording Artist, What would you say inspires most of your questions?
I try to remember that everyone that I interview is a person who has feelings. Most people try to dig deep but i ultimately just remember to stay in a comfort zone.

So the adult stars that you interview do you feel that they are just sexual objects that people love the fantasy?
We I have learned that a lot of adult stars that I know admire and adore are purely human. It is an adult stars job to sell a fantasy. Whether it is in adult film or exotic dancing their job is to sell the fantasy. Now more often then other times people go above and beyond and attempt to take the fantasy to the next level. But They Are HUMAN

So we know you switched your focus from your blog to your webseries, What made you?
I have always been interested in the arts and have always had a passion for doing webseries. Being apart of the original LGBT YouTube Community helped push me to inspire our community more.

When you say Original LGBT YouTube Community what do yo mean?
Original LGBT YouTubers are the originators of LGBT Blogging. When I look at when  I started 7 years ago there was Dio, King and Tay remixing all the hottest songs, There was RDA giving you a glimpse into the lives of 3 Gay Bestfriends, SweetAddictions Tv, FiveBlackGUYs Who were a cast of gay guys who 5 days out of the week gave you their views on different topics. We were the originators , before their were Web-Series, It was us, our webcams and YouTube as our Outlet.

So Tell us about Poz Lyfe?
Poz Lyfe is my baby. I felt like it was something that different and out of the ordinary. In an age where being HIV Positive is a little more accepted, I t was time to kill the stigma that everyone gets it thru gay sex. There is a percentage of people that are passed the virus thru birth but they are still stigmatized.
How is Poz Lyfe different from all other LGBT Web Shows out There?
I prided myself on showing real life in my show. Most LGBT Shows focus only on sex every scene is sex sex sex. What about dealing with real hand issues that we face everyday in our community.

Will we get a second season?
Unfortunately no! Poz Lyfe is my baby and the way we ended the forst season sorta left everyon on edge and wanting to see what would happen next. But we will not just leave you hanging, there will be a movie to tie everything in and answer all of your questions.

So we will be getting a movie?
Yes i am working on it. Writing is taking a little longer than usual but we will be there..

So we know you are a gay parent, tell us what does it mean to be a gay parent to you?
I am not a gay parent I am a parent period to 7 wonderful young mean who just happen to be gay. It means everything to me I have had each one of them since they were in their teens and to see the men that they have become is one great accomplishment. My kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews all mean so much to me.

What about your Gay Parents? Who are they? What are your views on them?
Again period they are my parents. Lets just take gay out the equation period. But to answer your question I have had several parents over the years. My very first parents when i started to come out were Helena Hologram and Dariel Pullium who is no longer with us. Currently my parents are Kevyn Mines, Donavin Wright and Majestic Black. All I can say is that I love my parents period point blank. We do not always see eye to eye, we have tons of differences but that doesn't mean that my love will die for them.

Can you name all of your siblings?
Oh God I stay trying to but I forget a few, Let me try.
Ts Madison, Gio, Extassy, Nova, Quake, JR, Jaquan, Stephen, Zachari, Dric, Eriq, Dion, Deandre, Anomaly, Toya, Arquez, Chris, Armani, Jailyn, Blaze, Alan, Bam Bam, Re Re, Shyhiem, Jamita, Jordan... I think i named them all.

Who is your favorite child?
OMG your really trying to get me in trouble. I don't have a favorite child, all of my munchkins have my traits in some way or another and its amazing to me.

Longest relationship?
Lol I would be asked this question. I haver never had a relationship last past 3 weeks. I dont know what it is but its always the excuses of, your to nice, you love to hard and the list goes on and on.

One thing you cant live without?
Thats hard, but the most simple answer for me is love. Love makes the world go round and without it life would be boring.

Biggest fear?
Losing People I love. This year has been really rough for me. My grandmother who i my bestfriend is battling stage 5 kidney failure which has me really on edge and distant from a lot of things. Also a few years ago Kevyn was shot in what seemed to be a hate crime. I honestly dont think i ever got over that. Just the thought that either one of them could be gone in a second just makes me go insane.

If you were not an LGBT Pioneer, what would you be doing?
HMM I probably would be an educator. I worked at 2 schools before and loved each and every relationship i built with each of my kids.

Any Final words for your viewers and fans?
I do, I want to simply thank each and everyone of you for being on this amazing journey with me for 7 long years. Making it 7 years is making it 30 in our community. It has not all been glitter and gold but I m glad that i can inspire and help change lives. My journey to serve my community has just begun so just stick with me because I am here to stay.
